The PADI
International Advanced Open Water Course is designed to prepare
you for diving through formal training. This course is
divided into two separate sections. Section one is based
upon the training manual; Adventures In Diving. Section
two is based upon five open water dives. These dives
include a night dive, deep dive and navigational dive, which are
core dives. The remaining dives are either a boat dive,
drift dive, wreck dive, search and recovery dive and naturalist
dive.
To participate in a PADI
Advanced Open Water Course;

You must be at least 15 years of age and have obtained an Open
Water Certification or equivalent.
# The maximum number of people for each class is limited to 6,
so bookings are essential.
On booking,
you will receive a copy of the PADI Advanced Open Water Manual;
Adventures In Diving, (manuals can be picked up from the dive
centre). It is suggested that you read the manual and complete
the exercises at the end of the core dives.
General course
information
To
become a qualified PADI Advanced Open Water Diver, both
practical and academic sessions must be completed. There are
five knowledge review sessions that run for approximately half
an hour each, with written exercises to be completed at the end
of each session. The sessions are held at the dive sites
car park before the dives are started.
Five
practical sessions must be completed, all of which will be
conducted in open water. The practical sessions are fully
supervised, having a qualified instructor and dive master
(depending on course numbers) present at all times to assist
with the exercises.
Course Schedule
The Open
Water sessions are completed over one weekend.
